Travel Medicine

Planning an overseas trip? At Health Hub Narwee, our doctors can help you stay healthy before, during, and after your travels. Whether it’s for work, study, adventure, or family holidays, we provide personalised travel health advice to keep you protected wherever you’re heading.

Our GPs can assist with:

  • Travel vaccinations – including hepatitis, typhoid, and more (depending on your destination)
  • Routine immunisation updates – making sure you’re up to date with standard vaccines before travelling
  • Destination-specific health advice – tailored guidance on food, water, insect precautions, and local health risks
  • Medication for travel – prescriptions for malaria prevention, altitude sickness, or traveller’s diarrhoea
  • Post-travel care – assessment and treatment if you feel unwell after returning home

When Should You Book?

We recommend seeing your GP at least 6–8 weeks before you travel, as some vaccines require multiple doses or time to take effect. However, even if your trip is sooner, it’s still worth booking an appointment for advice and protection.

Book an appointment by speaking to one of our receptionists on (02) 8005 2889, or by booking online through HotDoc.

How to Check Your Vaccination History

If you’ve had vaccines in the past—whether for travel, routine immunisations, or through school programs—they are recorded in the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). The AIR keeps track of all vaccines given in Australia, including those from the National Immunisation Program, school-based vaccinations, and privately arranged ones such as flu or travel vaccines.

You can view your immunisation history online through MyGov, or by calling 1800 653 809.
